FASHION SHOW, Project MUDAKI

MUDAKI Project Mudaki is included in the Escolas Program. The Project's aim is social inclusion for children and young people aged between 6 - 25 years. This project is based in Almancil and offers young people lots of different & diverse activities. Currently there are about 200 local kids/youth who participate in this project. They are kids in need who have come to Almancil mostly from other countries in crisis, around 12 countries ranging from Cape Verde, Africa, Ukraine & other European countries. They come to find a happier and safer life. The project is also open to the wider community in Almancil so no young people are excluded. Some of the children experience dysfunctional upbringings, others need help trying to integrate into a new society, there are lots of different needs. They need psychological support, motivation, activities to stimulate them as well as activities they can express themselves through. The project is partly funded by the Government (about 80% of the costs) but of course they need more funds for the kids and the on-going success of the project.
